First of all, I had a really, fun date with a man who I’ve known literally forever but whom I never give enough attention to – God!!
Yep, that’s right; I’m “dating” God.
Once a month I try to spend a day fasting and spend more time than my usual with Him, so I decided to make it into a regular Daddy/Daughter Date. Basically, that means taking time out to spend time with God in a creative, fun way that we will both enjoy – above & beyond sitting and reading my Bible or prayer because that it is something I try to do daily to maintain my relationship with the Holy Spirit.
For my date this month, I got crafty. Oh, and I had a dance party, but when do I not do that?
I’m going to hang this giant poster above my bed so that each morning when I wake, I will be reminded of the true purpose of life.
I received a hand-me-down dress from my best friend’s sister that is totally hand-it-over! I wore it yesterday morning to church & it made me think about the new life that Jesus gives us. We bring Him a hand-me-down life and He exchanges it for a life that is new every morning! God is so good…and so is this dress – and of course my baby, Monker, in the background
I went to the Chris Tomlin concert Saturday night and even though Sunday morning was pretty rough (especially with the time change!), it was SO worth it. I’m not sure I’ve ever had more fun at a concert. Why? Because (as I mentioned in this blog post) I refuse to hide myself anymore. Insecurity still pulls at me and whispers in my ear, but I resolve to brush him away and live fully in God’s power and joy each day. I cheered. I raised my hands and I danced along with all God’s people on God’s great dance floor (see the video!). It was awesome.
