Hey blog family,
Let’s catch up:
This week I am with my church’s youth group hosting a camp for our 3rd – 6th grade children. I mentioned this before but the theme is BIG – because God is BIG, His love is BIG and our excitement about that should be BIG.
Say a prayer for our youth counselors and our younger campers, please, especially that this excitement about God will live on in our children even after all the camp festivities end. Because, sadly, that doesn’t happen as much as it should.
As I mentioned in my previous post, no one has a better reason to rejoice than Christians (Agree? Tweet it!)…
But it is too easy for us to get caught up in self-righteousness or to get worn down or to see this beautiful relationship with Jesus as a list of rules that we must check off to get into Heaven.
This summer has been a stressful one for me. One, Satan is not making things easy for me. Everything that I try seems to get torn down and trampled, and I am tired of being stomped on. Secondly, I think I expect too much from summer.
I am a summer girl. I long for the warm nights, days in the pool, twinkling stars, girl-coming-of-age storybook kind of summers. And this one just hasn’t been that. I keep reminding myself that life is to be lived every moment. The time that we have is now and we can’t wait for it to get better, so I am making the most of every joyful moment.
Last but not least, it is almost time for Camp You Go Girl!! So excited
How has your summer been? Is it living up to your expectations?
